Header, Break line heat shield question
« on: Apr 06, 2006, 04:34:02 PM »
  #1.  I did try searching.
#2.  I posted in this area because it is a direct result of my engine mod.
Now that that's out of the way.

Hello all,
I would like to get some ideas in this.

I recently installed an LCE-Header..

But to get it installed I had to remove the heat shield that was bolted to the frame, that protects the front brake line from exhaust heat.  There is literally 1/2" between the two now, much less than stock, and without the protection of the shield.

I don't have a place to fab anything, and was looking for input before it get's hot out and i do some wheeling?  I was thinking of wrapping the brake line with something?  Or should I just not worry about it?  Probably too much thought into this, I know.

thanks

I would definately go to a good parts store and see if you can find some of that insulating metalic wrap stuff.  Yes, that is the technical name for it!
