I've never heard a definitive answer to the question, is the bell housing pattern the same between the 4.6 and 5.0?  Is there a difference in the motor mounts?  I might possibly have a line on a good 4.6 with wiring/computer cheap and wanna figure some things out first.

Somebody :dunno:  I don't think that engine will stay in tact, or be there for very long period!

im almost positive the mounts are different,  the 4.6  lays out  flatter than the 5.0

which makes it a few inches wider, the 5.0 is nice and compact

Hmm, something to think about.  I'd go over and ask my landlord to pop his hood so I could eyeball his 4.6, but then he'd wanna talk to me for an hour and a half about how every time he asks a friend for a tool he wants to talk, for an hour and a half.
