How do you get pictures resized to beable to post them?

I'm sure there are several ways to resize, but I always like to do things the hard way. After downloading the camera, I right click on the pic I wanna use, which brings up an edit menu. I then click on "Open with >" and select "Microsoft Office Picture Manager". Once in this program, I click on "Picture" and then select "Resize" from the pulldown menu. Then I click on "percentage of original width x height:" and enter a percentage that will give you the size you want to use. Then all you need to do is "save as" and post away. Told you I do everything the hard way!
