What's this Flange off of???
« on: Mar 19, 2006, 06:32:17 PM »
Pulled my flange off today and I can't figure out what this came off of.. i'm sure I knew at one point and time but can't recall.. I mated it up against a flange for a 83' Toyota pickup, 85 Toyota pickup and 92 Toyota 4runner and came up blank so i'm hoping someone will recognize it and tell me so I can get a new one.

The rear flange bolt pattern for Toyota seems to be 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"   but the one I have is 2 3/8" x 2 11/16"

Here's a shot of it, any input would be appriciated as always.

wouldn't the rear and front bolt pattern be the same?   I just bought an 83' rear flange from KYOTA and its a diff. bolt pattern.

This flange you are looking at came off the rear output shaft.

That's the thing.. IF I knew where it came from I wouldn't have asked.. I just know what it seems like it DIDN'T come off of. I would figure if it came off an 83' like you said.. then the 83' rear flange I bought should fit. I suppose I could be wrong but i'd suspect that the front and rear bolt pattern would be the same.. possibly not?

All I know is if I pull a rear output flange off an 83' , 85' , or 92'  its not going to bolt up to the driverline sooooooo... gotta find out where this flange came off of so I can get another   :hammer:   :hammerhead:

i can get you pics if you need them

the front flange is different because it has a cv.  the back one is supposed to be round on your truck.  I got a couple I could take pictures of in the morning

when you brought that to my attention about it being a front flange I scratched my head and said ".. hmm.. that sounds about right"

because the rear's are always round and the fronts are that odd shape. but why in the heck would they make the rear flange bolt hole pattern diff. from the front?  im just curious..

if i can just figure out where this came from and get another one that's all that matters  :)

umm... like 1/2"  or the equivelent to metric... the bolt head's are 13mm

take a picture of the front and shoot it my way. I bet that's what it is.. because your right... I did a cv on my rear driveline because of the angle.

my 79  came with like 8mm  bolts, 12mm head with 14mm nuts , but they made alot of drivelines with smaller bolts,

but converting to the 10mm bolts now  :woohoo:
