Glass Quarters?

What is the cheapest and best way to put a set of glass quarters ona 4Runner? I have 2 but I'm not sure exactly how to put them on.

Well, you have to cut off the rear quarter panels so that allows you to leave as much or as little metal lip as you want.  I don't know what the glass panel construction is like, but if you are going for quick and dirty you could, theoretically, with wide washers, bolt them on.  I think they are meant to get glassed in though.  But I have never really seen any so, meh?

I was told you cannot glass them onto the metal because after a little while of vibration and flexing they will separate. I know you are supposed to use some kind of adhesive, but it will cost me around $200 for the special adhesive and the gun that you need.
I was thinking maybe rivet it in 6 spots or something and have the rest help on with adhesive some it still looks good.

Does anyone know of any good adhesive that I can use to put them on?

Is there a magical adhesive out there that will work better than epoxy resin?  I do not know...I would be careful with rivets, the fastener pressure is not distributed well becaus they are small and no washer.  I would have a little excursion to HD or lowes and check out different fasteners, bet you can find something pimp.

the thing with a 4Runner is that the cap has to seal. I was told there is a special stuff, but I figure something else would work.

I have a set of Hannemann Ivan Stewart fiberglass boxsides that have been sitting in my garage for a few years because I am unsure of how to mount them as well. I will be interested to hear what you decide.

I have seen on Trucks! TV that you can rivet them every 2" or so and it works good and looks good, but I can't do that with the 4Runner because it had a cap. I will keep checking around with some bodyshop people to see what they think too.

i thought that you use dzus fasteners or something and run braces off the remaining original structure for it

well thats how they always did it on the explorer website i belong to for the rear of the explorer

its a little bit hard to see, but if you look, you see big metal spots in the fiberglass fenders on the doors and the fender

That doesn't look to bad, how do they fasen the bottom and top?

Lol, thats right... it might be a good idea. I'll grab some tonight if I can.

I was told by someone that I can use windshield adhesive because it is flexible and hold very well.

There is a write up with pics on this   in 4x4 wire     . you need to remove the whole panel   and  get adhesive and glue the new 1 on
