3" rear lift springs
« on: Feb 21, 2006, 03:16:19 PM »
Ok-

I am looking for about a 3" lift spring for the rear, preferrably one that is a bit longer than stock with good flexability. I have a rocker perch that gives about 2 " lift, too much for the 5" springs I currently have sitting in the garage. Thoughts?

Can't seem to find a lot of info on this. Seem to recall Marlin selling a 3" lift spring a while ago however I didn't think I would need on at that time.....

Thanks in advance!

you can run some S10 springs  or take a leaf or two out of the 5 inch springs you have

you will need a good sized bench vice   ,  and a prybar and BFH
and a wrench to fit what ever size nut is on the tie bolt,    put the springs in the vice and remove the bolt, and any clamps that are around the springs, then remove one or 2 of the lower leafs,  then re install the bolt,  the vice will squeeze the pack back together

Don't worry it's easy, and if you don't have a bench vice I use 2 c-clamps to keep every thing straight. Plus to keep the center pin hole lined up as I pull the center pin out I simultaneously insert a stud or dowel to keep the leaves from moving around as I pull or insert leaves.
