Intro...Jeep owner showing new Toyota ride
« on: Feb 18, 2006, 09:01:49 AM »
Howdy guys, I'm a Jeep addict that has a new ride.

I'm not new to the Toyota scene. I've had a '85 Toyota LB, Auto 2wd, and a '98 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 5 speed 4wd.
As for the Jeeps I own, I have a '79 J10 Honcho pickup, '75 J20 (3/4ton), '66 J3000...a project in the making. Their all Jeep pickups.

I just wanted to show off my new ride, this is gonna be my new DD. It needs a few little things like a full set of springs and some black rock crawler rims but thats about it. I'm gonna keep it stock, I got my other rides to pull trail duty.

If y'all have any opinions on replacement springs let me know. I'm kinda set on the 3" SkyJacker full spring set-up, but would like any opinions about these or others. I price stock replacements and I *think* I might possibly be able to buy another truck for their asking price :yikes:

Anyways without further adew...

Here's a pic of my '66 project:

Darn clean 1st gen!  Had one just like it (same color too) as my first vehicle at 15.  That truck is the reason I will only own Toyota Trucks.  Not much on go fast, but go anywhere and reliable too.  Nice find!

Nice, if it's a DD, get a full OME set up, they're tops for ride quality.

Thanks for the welcome guys. This will be my daily driver. I got alot to learn!!! Pulled back the center dash today trying to find why the radio wouldn't work. Needless to say it still don't work :shake:

BTW...is it true that the spring perches are at different heights? I measured about a 1/4" in the parking lot. Was I off?

I got ALOT to learn! :suprised:
