Yokohama tyres
« on: Sep 13, 2003, 09:41:01 PM »
Hey,
So, you read the subject line, Yokohama Geolander tires, 35x12.5, 159 bucks (or thereabouts) directional tread.  yada yada, are they cheap for a reason? I have heard good things about Yokohamas, and now I want to hear whatever bad things there might be.  Do tell.

Ferrous and I briefly discussed this. Ive seen them the tread pattern looks like it would work well, however some first hand experience with these tires would be nice. Tyre size doesnt matter as far as im concerned.

I'd just like everyone to know that this is my 100th post.  That's all, I'd also like to know more about these tyres and about how many kilometers I can expect before they need replacing.  Thanks.  OH, and I was also wondering which mudders have the best reputation for long tread wear, I know, I know, they're mudders and blah, blah, blah, but hey, anyone?

yokohamam makes a pretty darned good tire my experiences with them have been pretty good no wandering or balance issues I say gettem!  Ive heard people saying the sidewalls are only 2 ply but they must be damned strong neither I nor any of my buddies have ripped them.
as for the claws they suck!!! they wear like crap and suck everywhere but the tire store!!

i dont know about the light truck tires, but i know on my Kenworth nothing goes up front except yokohama :beerchug: they wear better than firestones or michelans

the longest running tires i ever bought were a set of Remington mud brutes-31-10.50s.  i had them right after i bought my truck, they did great for 5 years, anywhere from mud to rocks, to interstate, i cut one bad on a rock and took it to the dealer, he looked at it and said if i had any problems he would bring a new tire to me wereever i was, but to run it,it was on the rear,  so i did.    the cut never spread

cool thanks, it seems like the Yoko's have a good rep. I'm looking forward to hearing about the new Iroks, they seem to be in my price range as well.  Hey, what if we started a 'tire thread?' wouldn't that be neat?
