W55 question

Ive heard from a couple people that you can change the tail housing and a couple little parts and convert it into a w56 ?    any truth to this ?  i have a w55 and can come across  trashed w56s pretty easy.  id be nice to have a w56  for my dual tranny swap than a 4spd .

I've heard te same thing.  Didn't really pay attention because It didn't really apply, but I think there was something on PBB about it.  :dunno: hope you find what yer lookin for!
