Lets see or hear of some solid ways to get more flex out of an FJ40. Any pic's would be great. Mostly i would like to see different spring conversions, but am always open up to ideas. O and base it off a sprung over rig. Thanks guys.

FJ55 springs in the rear.  Longer spring, moves the axle back a few inches.  I have a set for sale if your're interested.

Thanks  i have heard that. Any other options out there. Shipping would kill to get the springs up to Alaska  :smack:  But we have quite a few FJ55 parts rig and even more that have been torn down for extra springs. All the FJ55's have been just too far gone to restore. Does anyone have any pics of the FJ55 springs in a FJ40. Thanks John

sprung over with 60 series springs both front and rear. they are 3 inches longer than stock...flip both sets of springs around to gain extra wheelbase as well.. make sure you have plenty of grease in your bushings and open the spring wraps up to let the springs "fan" out more...
here is a pic of my truck with only 60 series in the rear and 40 series up front but you get the idea...I havent got any with my 60 series up front yet....

I still had aboot 5 inches of flex left but my front fender couldnt take it and my rear shocks have bottomed out...

the never ending build...

Was searching for something and came across this old jew. BUMP to a classic thread

fj40 stock rear srings, sprung over, with axle pin moved back 1 inch, sring rockers, and traction bar, I also moved the rear shackle mount forward about 1 inch and used a longer shackle
front is stock springs, sprung over, reversed, and hung by some longer shackles (the trick was getting the geometry right so the shackle guset or spring dont hit the frame)
all this has gained almost more flex than needed, I used rancho adjustable shocks(cranked up for the streat) to keep it all in check.
