Mount them as close to the spring as possible, and as vertical as possible.

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Rear shocks?  I don't know if there is a "best way" but here is what we did borrowing ideas from Big Mike and SKy MFG  :thumbs: ;

If they are angled in you get less absorbsion, also if they are not long enough for the amount of travel your springs give you you can mount them closer inward to compensate.

There might be a easier way but the way i would do it.  Mesure your shocks eye to eye fully compressed and fully extended.  Flex your truck out on somthing to max travel, what ever you use ie: rock, fork lift, hi-lift, etc...
You will want to do it with the front in the air and then the rear in the air because you will get different results.  Find the points between the frame and axle where the mesurements of your shock will fit.

That's all I can think of :crossed:

No it is custom. we built it as a tribute to others we have seen here. If you look close you will see we made 2 mount points so we could adjust it. turned out the 12" shocks fit perfectly on the inside holes. the wer 3" from center and the outer ones were 6" from center.

Hope this helps
