you could always use a jeep tcase and tranny so that youd never have to replace it again ... :nana:   that sucks you broke yo shiz dawg. how much did it cost you to have it removed by a wrecker? i had a incident a couple months ago... they charged me 700 bones to move my jeep 12 inches  ::)

So if you have a chain driven does that mean if you went duals you would have to replace both cases?  What would it cost you to go duals?

Yes, you need 2 gear driven cases to make it work....I havent figured out how much its gonna cost yet....I wasnt quite ready to do duals yet :surprised:
but things happen I suppose.....

Maybe it would be cheaper for an atlas 4spd...  A little heavier duty unit,  I used a shop discound I think it cost me around 3k for my four speed.  Not sure how that compares to duals from scratch but it seems like it would be comparable.

Cost isnt really the problem, I  suppose....I can get cases for really really cheap and probably source a used adaptor......my lack of knowledge is my only concern at this point....but I think I'm in the right place to get all the help i need

Build your own duals, and save a ton. You could have it all built for under a grand, if you get the cases and all at a dirt cheap price anyhow.

Have you been considering tcase crossmembers yet? Flatbelly? How about driveshafts? Any thoughts about what you like?

Duals aren't really that pricey.

$370 for Marlin dual case adapter
$100 for second transfer case

There ya have it. Factor in other things such as new crossmbmer / way to mount it all, and you're still easily under $1K

For Collier, he'll have to get a new tranny anyways, so why not go with a W56 or a R151? Then you get a gear-driven t-case with the package. AND he has a line on them CHEEAAAAPP!!! Ahaha!

Don't forget driveshafts, longer front and shorter rear. depending on your own abilities and resources it can cost $200+ for DS work alone.

Indeed. I think I'm going to 2.5 sch. 40 the rear and square the front. We'll see, though. Good point!

What adapters are necesssary to use the R151f with duals behind a 22re? I think they bolt to the motor but require adaptors or something to use gear driven cases right?

Nope. It'll bolt right up between a 22R/RE and regular MC-07 / MC-07 R-10. It's the best of a V6 (technically) tranny and a gear-driven case with a 23 spline input. That's what I've got goin' in my ride. I just tore down the turbo case this last weekend for the crawler adapter, and now goes in my 23-splined 4.7 top shift rear case.

The r-150 (V6 tranny found behind 3.slows and 3.4s <--- not sure about 3.4s ) needs and adapter after the tranny output to mate gear driven cases. That might be what you're thinkin' about.

DTB, is the chain drive case behind the g58 the same as the 3.slow one? :gap:  If so, you can use that as the rear most case, marlin has an adapter out for it now
