little toy go BOOM!!!
« on: Jan 10, 2006, 12:30:03 PM »
alright well i was driving my 86 toy with sas swap last night and the engine go bang bang then go seize. haha. so i have a 91 2wd pick up. that has a freshly rebuild efi motor (less than 100 miles on it) but it has a broken rocker arm so i gott replace that. then i'm gonna pull the motor, cab, and bed off my 86. then swap in the efi motor, then the 91's cab and bed. then i'm gonna re gear the axles, get some 37'' mtr's on bead locks, put a regeared t case in, new bumpers, winch, bob the bed, and build an exo. does anyone here see a problem or big issue besides cutting a new hole in the floor of the 91. if anyone has done anything like this and has any special info i should know please let me know. thanks

i think its the front ( not very front.. the one that would be at your feet)  that needs to be move.. but im not toally sure.. and yeah you need to have every mount bolted down or you will destroy yer cab

dude,  it would be easier  to just throw a solid axle under the 91 and use your 86 tranny and tcase

Ditto, you'll get more clearance over the front axle too.

ya my 86 frame has marlin's sas with 4'' leafs, 2inch over stock shackles, front extended shock hoops with bilsteins front and rear, and a aussie locker in the back. and the 91 is 2wd if i didn't say that so i'd have to swap the rear axles in too.
