New Years Bald Mtn. Pic Thread
« on: Jan 01, 2006, 07:02:36 PM »
I didn't get near as many shots as I hoped to but oh well.

Rock Creek Road was very iced over and As you can see in one of the shots the pavement has washed off the concrete culvert structure of the bridge.

Any snow that had fallen in the past week or so was frozen.  Many of the spot that you usually walk up required lots of skinny peddle.  We made it to just below V Rock fro lunch and at that point it started to snow so we started making our way down the hill.

Some other misc pics.  When we hit Dinkey Creek Rd. it was snowing pretty good.

The red Jeep flopped it onto the passenger side on the way out. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Last ones.  We all thought this dually was going in but he just parked and played in the snow with his kids.  $60k King Ranch Super Duty, I wanted to see that in the snow.  :screwy:

Check out the  :bling: :bling: on the Jeep.  Need I say more?

I ran up today with Jason (weak-link). There was a bit more snow on the ground but for the better part of the day, it was sleeting and turning the snow to slush. We still had fun and the warm DRY clothes sitting back in the Dodge were a nice touch.

We only made it to the green gate as Rock Creek was time consuming enough. @ the deepest, I'd say there was 3" @ the gate. It was nice to finally get the Cruiser out and enjoy the weather. While we were gone, about 2" dropped back @ Rock Creek and Dinkey Creek.
