Hit A/C button (if you have it), turn heat all the way up.  A/C takes humidity out of the air

Make sure the air setting is on fresh not recycled, you will steam up if you don't have it in the open postion.

Yea the AC will do a better job of getting rid of the moisture that is causing the fog.

MRS W did that to me in the F350 one night, she decided we needed the defrost on and put it on full speed on hot and the winshield instantly fogged up so bad I almost had to stick my head out the window to keep from wrecking the truck. :yikes:

Dan, that's gonna work I promise.  I've had cold air blowing in my cab for well over a year and just now got off my butt to find out it was caused by air coming in around the fresh air flapper.  I've told my friends not to mess with any heater controls in my truck cause in the first gens they have a tendency to get bunched up and usually are locked in the wrong place, but idle fingers take over.  I disconnected the cable, opened the flapper and used some marine silicone around it where it mounts under the dash cause the stock seal was gone.  When I first bought my truck I had to crack a window in cold weather cause even with the heater off the cab got too hot, and I'm finally back to that point, and my defroster once again kicks ass.

Yep my buddy's mustang needed the AC on in the mornings because it is the dry air that will desfrost your junk and just blowing air wont do it. He would come to school with like 3 pairs of pants and 2 jackets plus gloves because of that car.

I haven't drank any  tonight. But the defroster in the Couger doesn't work at this point in time so I've been using a tawel so I can see driving home from work

I always get a good chuckle when I see someone in a newer Toyota (since I know their heater works) and they have the windows all fogged up and are wiping with whatever they have and all they really needed to do is open the vent and it would all go away.

I like seein that in new cars too...it is part of the reason I got manual climate control on my car so I would have control over what my junk was doing.

The newer Ford trucks run the compressor while in defrost to remove the humidity from the air before warming it back up. :bling:

You could always spit on the windshield before wiping it down. You know like you do to your swim mask when diving.
