Alright so update time: My 1st gen is gone. This truck is a POS I am glad I did not buy. I saw the frame and almost shat myself. Now I am looking at an 85 EFI longbed in much better shape for 1800. That is another thread though.

Dude, the guy was blowin smoke up your rectum.  Actually, I think somebody told him the right way but he either told you wrong or you maybe misunderstood it.  The trucks came with the rails on the outside or inside, the difference was that the beds that were made here had inside rails, outside means bed came from japan.
