I have a 85 with a carbed 22r that sat for a year the engine had only 2500 miles on it before it sat ran great. now It's got a horrible miss timing was set right plugs and wires are changed I can't figure it. I even drained the fuel tank and put fresh 91 octane in it is there something that can happen from sitting that would cause this.  I've exhausted all my resources!!!

 :driving:well,   it sounds like a ring may have stuck  and possible broke,   do a compression test, i'm sure you'll find a difference in compression.    pull the spark plugs,  put in about an ounce of tranny fluid in each cylinder let it sit overnight,   then   spinn the motor over to spit out what might be left,  the reinstall plugs and fire it up, its going to smoke  if that doesnt free the rings up, ie. it still misses  pull the dist cap and check your pickup coil inside the dist

also  with a lo mileage engine sitting for awhile valves could be stuck in there guides,  try some sea foam, if the tranny fluid dont work
