mixing drivelines
« on: Dec 17, 2005, 11:59:09 AM »
well nick(to the floor) came up with a good idea. im in need of a rear driveline for my 85. he has one for an 83. could i take out the u-joints and the end flanges, and use the flanges from my 85 on the 83 driveline. then go have it balanced?
Im an OG

yes. and unless you are modifying the tube  there is no need to have it ballanced

yes it is a regular cab, but it's a long bed so it's the same as an ex cab.  we're thinking about just puttin his pinion and tcase dline yokes on the 83 bcuz theyll match up to his pinion and tcase flanges, thats why we wouldnt just use the 83 in its entirety.
in the projects nooga, anything goes

sounds like it should work if you swap out the end flanges on the driveline

Why not just drill out the flanges? :dunno: The only difference is that the 83 has an 8mm hole and the 85 has a 10mm hole... Right??
