84 toy desiel into 85 toy?

new to this 4m i have an 85 Toyota with a 22re and i am looking to put in a diesel out of an 84 into my truck possibly a turbo as well. what i want to no is.... how hard is this swap going to be? what do i need to do? newer bellhosing,clutch, etc.... how about electrical? will i have to do alot to my harness to mate this motor up? thanks for any info...

 :psss:  toyotadieselmadness.com has the info and know how you seek.  It really depends on what you start with.  Assuming you have a w56 tranny you would need the bellhousing form the diesel truck, which should also be a w series if it's a standard tranny.  Not sure on how it would mount to the frame, whether or not you'd need to move your motor mounts.  I say go for it, that makes for a sweet setup, especially if you're gonna run bio-diesel.

a 2L will bolt to the same engine mounts that a 22R will, just need the diesel bellhousing to bolt it to a G or W tranny.

i am getting the motor from my dad i am pulling it right out of one truck and into mine, so i have all the parts and electrical stuff, will i need to lose my fuel pump? also can i take my gauge custer out of mine and put his in? they are quite differant the deisiel red lines at like 3? will the bellhosing off of the desiel bolt onto my tranny? it's not turbo'd yet... any know ere i can get a turbo for it? and will there be alot of electrical work to be done for this turbo? thanks
