No, I havn't used a 4 link calculator. So If I move my lower links up at the axle end it'll help? I Got this idea of mounting on a comp rock rig I saw on TV it acts like a rock slider. with rear flex steer as bad as it is right now, it's no good. As long as It's have a little, no big deal thanks for all the info

You need to converge your lower links to reduce rear steer.

BTW - where in Oregon are you? I'm just south of Eugene.

it will help reduce longitudinal displacment of the link end throughout the useable arc of the suspension travel.  As stated before, however, unless you triangulate, you won't be ablt to fully eliminate the flex steer.

I live in medford and for the links. I think of mounting the lower links on top of the axle extending the lower ones a few inches, anyways I'm hopefully have the tranny and motor in and mounts built and finished.

if you get 5mge motor mounts you can bolt the 7mge in the same place as the 22r.

5mge motor mounts (the steel part that bolts to the block)
then you can use the 22R/RE/RTE, 2RZ or 3RZ Rubbers
And that will bolt right to the 4 cylinder frames.

Heres what they look like.

BTW if you need a reference thread on a 7MGE install, look here:

http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=11982.0

I would recomend installing ARP studs and a Metal Layered Head Gasket before you install the motor!

Good luck when you get to this part...

MAN YOU SUCK :yikes: This is almost identical to the build I have been talking about doing. I am planning on using an extra cab though. Have you thought about what you are going to do about brakes with the 7m motor in there.

Have you thought about lengthening your wheelbase a bit by moving the rear axle back?

No, for the trails I do, the wheel base is perfect. I do alot tight trails with alot of high center humps and tank traps, and what not. plus it's long enough to do steep hill climbs with out flipping. Plus moving the cab and motor back this thing is going to rock, plus the power of the 3.0 ahaha it's goin to be awesome. When I go to the coast to do some trails I take and post some videos, and pics. There some narly trails and alot steep hill climbs.

The 7m motor just about hits the brake booster when the cab is not narrow.

Oh ya, not getting rid of it, afterall. I worked some stuff out and I was able to keep it, the build won't be done by end of dec. as I was hoping. I wanting it done by march now but maybe a little sooner, tomorrow I am building the rear shock mounts, getting the motor mounts welded in,I've been fideling with the flex steer in back, It has it still, But I went looking around at other trucks and jeeps, that had the four link the same way, and most rigs have it worst. So for Right now I'm just leaving it.It flex's really well. so post pics tomorrow

Any way you can get those shock outboard a bit more?  Might just be the pics, but they look like they are really in far towards the middle.
