They are a good tire....good looks good working tire i belive the only downside is the price....downside? well you get it they are quiet on the street and last nicely (even on a heavy F-350) so what r u doing with your Sx'x? I need a set

I have these tires as you can see on my avatar.  Real queit, long wearing, and great traction.  Thick side tread allowed for great rim protection.  Made it through the rubicon this last summer without airing down.  Reason being is that I wanted the extra clearance since I did not have any sliders.   Made it through the gate keeper without touching my quarter panels.  In other words it's a great all around tire.  I picked mine up for $840 OTD.

Thanks, price is a downside... but I hope they aren't too expencive. Also, I live in Canada... Not positive where you live, but its probobly not close to me, but if you want them... you can have em for a small fee.  :yesnod:

So you paid $840 for 4? What size?

CHA CHING...that is the only downside of Toyos. Theyre not cheap. Get something a little more mainstream maybe? Super swampers? I dont know.

I paid $840 for 4, 35x13.50 at 15".  Actual side width is 14.25 inches cause of the side tread.  Not sure about the ply.

I already have the SX's, but I was also thinking of a set of SSR's or Iroks radials. I think the wear on them 2 tires are very quick, but I'm not positive... anyone know?

I know that is $840 USD, but I think that is fairly reasonable, I'll have to check the Toyo website for the ply maybe.

I looked on the web site and it does not say the ply rating, does anyone know what the ply rating is for the sidewall and the tread? :help:

gotrocks

they are a 3 ply side wall

I have had mine for almost a year and I love them.  They are the best all around tire I've had so far and have recommended them to everyone that I talk to and wheel with.  Around my neck of the woods everyone seems to be a snow wheeler.  Well I like snow but also am a very big fan of rocks.  I needed something that would do great in everything and be able to drive me home without a horrible wear problem and vibration that swampers give

gotrocks

don't get the SSR's, I've had 3 sets so far and I will admit they aren't to bad but nothing like the toyo's  Trust me I've wheeled with them in every condition and the toyo's will out do them any day.

oh and the price for the 37's well I got a deal you probably wouldn't be able to get but I only paid 170 a tire OTD for my 37's

When I hear or read, "Good all around tire," I think of the BFG All Terrian or  MT KM.  Have you considered these?  I have been running my MT's for about three years and have about 50%+ tread remaining.  They have worked well on the highway, some mud and Moab.  I think they are about $170 per tire now?  I got mine for $121 a tire  :o

I don't really want to go with a BFG, everyone has them and they are a boring looking tires  I really like the Toyo and have nothing else against the BFG.

I wan to get 37's, but right now my 36's already hit the rear fender... but I think I may just trim my fenders. Hey GotRocks? What did you cut your fenders out with?

Maybe not wear you live, but around here all I ever see are those damn TOYO M/T.  Every superduty around here has them.

My friend has 37's on his 3rd gen, he has a v6 and 529's.
From what I have seen the Toyo m/t's are better at least in the snow and mud than the BFG m/t's.  Never seen the Toyo's in rocks but I am pretty sure they will do good, they flaten out pretty well when aired down.
They certainly get better milage than the boggers, but they dont climb my hill as fast.  He has had the Toyo's for about 10k miles and show little sign if any of wear.

Good luck on your decision.

1Bad4Runner

Thanks alot, I may be buying them this week. I don't know what one I want, 37x14.5x15r or 35x13.5x15r... they both seem a little wide and you can't get 12.5's I don't think :rivers:

I haven't cut the fender yet on my runner but when I do cut them of other rigs I have an air saw.  It work really good and gives me really clean cuts.

oh and the BFG's I've run 2 sets of the Muds and I will say I like them but not compared to the Toyo's.  I ran both the original BFG MT and the BFG MT KM.  Still would put my Toyo's up against them.  bd I'm not saying that they aren't good tires I've seen what you've done with your rig and they do work really good.

bd I'm not saying that they aren't good tires I've seen what you've done with your rig and they do work really good.

I have no doubt that better tires exist, the Mud KMs last a long time but wear out terribly making a rough ride.

It sounds like the Toyo is way more expensive, $300 ea?  I was out the door with new wheels and tires for about $800.

How much is it really worth to pay more for truck parts simply because "everyone" has one, or a set?  I can understand not wanting all of our trucks to look alike, but I wouldn't consider paying  more for a tire simply because it is less common.

Isn't the goal of the majority of the board members to run a dual ultimate setup?

Not judging, just asking.

Is the $300 Canadian?  How much US?

Good point BD,  Besides it is funner to go wheeling with all your friends when everyones rig is the same, yet you can make it down the trail and they cant.
I love that feeling.

1Bad4Runner

I know what you mean BD, but really the Toyo is no more expencive than the BFG's... Its atually $40 more to buy the BFG's.

$300 Canadian is about $260 US, but you guys have most of the tire manufacturers down there... I also have to pay to get them to Canada.

I really like the Toyo's I just hope they aren't to wide.

I've never seen the Bridgestones before and I don't know to much about them either. I think I'm gonna go with the Toyo's, they seem to be a great all around tire from what I hear so far.
