Bilstein 7100?

I was out at the Hammers on 11-25. My friend's Runner was bottoming out driving over the bumps on the way to the trails at anything over 25 mph. His runner is heavy (350, winch, armor, dual gas tanks etc) and he is running  Rancho 9000s that are about a year old. We adjusted the shocks to the stiffest setting, but they still bottom out.

Does anyone here have a recommendation for a better shock? Bilstein's 7100 look good.

try adding a leaf to your current pack to help stiffen it up a bit a good presurized gas shock will also help if you do both you cant go wrong

The problem with the truck bottoming out, is most likley not the stiffness of shock but, the type of shock you are running, Rancho's and Doestechs are shocks that dampen only and don't rebound. Bilstiens, Edelbrocks and other shocks that are charged with either nitrogen or something like it will help keep those leaf springs from sagging and the truck from bottoming out. I ran Doestechs for about two years and lost about an inch of lift, then I went to the Bilstiens and got it all back. But with a 350 under the hood, I'd throw another leaf in there. Or by Marlins front springs if you have not already.

The only problem I would imagine with adding another leaf is it may affect flex.    The Runner has 5" Alcans on it now.  The thought with the beefier shocks is to maintin the flex and also improve the few times the rig drives in the 25 to 45 mph range.

TacoRunner: Did you run the 7100s? Any thoughts on running the shocks with or without the remote reservoirs? Thanks for the help.
