5.0L/302 Questions
« on: Nov 14, 2005, 06:09:40 AM »
I have a few questions since I can pick up a 5.0L/302 for pretty cheap out of 94 Cobra. I was wanting to know:

What Tranny/Transfercase setup are you using?

Are you still running Toys or did you swap to 60s?

What kind of wiring harness are you running?

Yeah I've looked through what Brandon had done(POR4x4) but I'm looking to see what everyone else has done.

the article on my site is more updated, and my bellhousing, NP435, and adapter to toy cases is 4 sale :)

use the harness that is on the motor, don't waste $$ on another one that will be even harder to wire..

Brandon... I have seen your site and also waiting on the forward air price on pirate for the case and tranny. What are you going to now since you are selling those?

Thanks,
Roach

I'll be starting my 5.0 project later this winter to early spring.

Item's I'm using for build up include the 5.0 EFI, still undecided on trans - leaning VERY hard to a C-6 and will more than likely go this route, 203 (still looking for) to a 205, out to a D60 Ford front and a 14 bolt rear. Frame is going to be built from scratch - buggy setup, square tube platform and rest 1 3/4 tubing 120 wall for cage. Maybe going to either 42 or 44" TSL's.

The way I drive there is no way I'll install Toy drive train componets behind a V-8.  :driving:  :disturbed:

Sorry fellas but no Toy parts on my 5.0 project:
I still be doing some Toy rigs, however; Bender is going to be taken down and most of his parts are going into a 4 Runner project that's due for the next level stage, it's known as "Stitch" and I have two other 4 Runner's going on at the same time - 86 street rig (engine overhaul) and a 85 deer hunter light trail rig.

That looks like the easiest route to me to so the only thing toy will be the frame and the body. I'l looking to pick the D60 for under 1k from a guy that wants them gone.

Make sure their not the 90's body style ball joint D60's. They run a D50 inner and non serviceable wheel bearings - plus if you run a D60 rear or 14 bolt the lug pattern may be different because their not metric like the ball joint Ford D60 is.

$800.00 is a good deal for a kingpin Ford D60 - or you could keep searching for a $100.00 one like I found   lock out to lock out still under the F-350.
