r151 rev idler gear q.

   does anybody know if the rev idler gear and the "sleeve" can be tack welded? rev lost 2 weeks ago and i know the rev idler gear is the problem. there is a "sleeve" in it and it came off. "sleeve" and gear
are supposed to be 1 piece. gear is $150. at the dealership and i cannot afford it this time.
this is why i am asking anyone if someone had done this before. "sleeve" alone is not availalble at the dealership. thanks ray
