Chevy Rear Spring Question?

I'm in the process of SASing my 2nd Gen 4Runner and I'm wanting to leaf spring the rear and I'm thinking of using Chevy Springs because I have a free pair laying around and need to save $$$$.

My question is: Can someone give me a measurement from a body mount or something for the front spring perch when putting these on a 2nd Gen 4Runner.

Can't help you with the measurement, but be ready for the ass to be squatin. The second gen runner has got a heavy butt. Mines pretty mushy with 150 springs and add a leafs.

Turn one of the leafs upside down, back up on it, then measure the distance from the front eye to center pin. Then drop a plum bob where you want your axle to sit and measure from there forward.

Do you have any recommendations for junkyard springs for the 2nd Gen Runners?

I agree with Fireball, it will definently sag. If it was me i'd do it just like i'd do a regular pickup, set your shackles in place first then adjust the springs to accomidate as much rear articulation as possible. Dont want that rear shackle to be ||   you want it more \\

Good luck, buddy of mine put Alcan's on his 92' Runner and loves them but they cost a pretty penny.

I dont know the specifics, but a guy in Vacaville put some 2500 springs from a '77 farm truck, they held up the rear purty well on his runner, and gave him decent flex, since they were so old

Might wanna look into some of those at a junkyard

If you want to do chevy springs then go with the 3/4 ton springs.

I'm not 100% set on chevy springs. It just seemed they where a good choice but I never thought about how heavy the 2nd Gens are.
