swapping rear view mirror?

Anyone know if a rear view mirror out of a 88 truck will bolt into an 82?  Mine is shot, I found one for sale, but not sure if it will work.

It might...the one I've got in my 84 is out of a 89? Toy van.

I don't know what my rearview is out of in my 1980 truck. If works but the bolt pattern isnt perfect. Get it close enough and it will work, just go to a junkyard and get one really cheap, if it works so be it and if it doesn't sell it.
