brakes

i got the ifs calipers and the fj vents up front on a 85 front end , i got he big mc from marlin and i bleed the system three times and i still have to pump the pedal a little bit to get a real good lock on the brakes :dunno: ,what should i do to make them work better, the port valve in the rear is still there soooo.... :dunno:  :turtle:
86' yota, extra cab, duals, HP frnt with detroit 4.88s, V6 rear with detroit 4.88s, bobby super set, driveline tech dl's, neat lil upgrades on the way can someone say 4link and dovetail front...

 I dont know much about brakes, except how to do some stuff and uprgrades anyhow i am wondering did u uprgrade to a fj80 master cylinder that has a 1"bore that might help some. Good luck though. :biggthumpup:

Is the rear drum or disc?

Not knowing your background,

Was the master cylinder bench bleed?  Did you bleed the breaks per below?

Rear driver,
rear passenger
front passenger
front driver
LSVP 

If all is well, describe more what the brakes are doing when you're trying to stop.

Yotacrawler, I have the same axles / brakes on my S-10 and I had very similar problems when I did the brake up grade.  What I found out was that I had to bleed the crap out of the rear then the front, then the rear and the front again.  I admit, I felt like I pushed A BUNCH of unnecessary brake fluid through the system but it finally worked. :thumbs:

Remember, the IFS calipers may have set for a short while semi dry (as well as your system) and it can take a fair amount to push out any unwanted air.  Other then that, is there a chance that you have a tiny leak where air could be being sucked back into the lines :sad2:
