im not to sure what these 44044's measure out to be ............if anyone can tell me what the spec's are on these things that would be great.

PS did they come stock in a truck or are they after market?

TEXXX

I run them in the front and they flex well. they came with the truck but I believe them to be a aftermarket jeep spring?
RIP Gatekeeper you will be missed!

KYOTA

Rancho 44044s are heep wagoneer lift springs 2" lift on the Wagoneer I believe but 4 or 5 on a Toyota.

RHG

Aftermarket waggy springs...Rancho I believe. They got some height to them, be a good spring for the rear of a runner.

the 44044's are ranchos 2.5'' lift spring for a jeep wagoneer. the center pin is at 22.5 off the front eye(same as stock toy fronts) but the spring has a lot of arch in it so the axle is forward a bit at ride height, but moves back when compressed flat... theyre pretty darn tall and lift most toys like 5 inches or so. you dont need a drop hanger or anything unless you like nose bleeds from the high altitude :moon: theyre too tall, id put the bottom 3 44044's under some toy rear mains and build a little drop hanger with some beefy spring hangers....

RHG

Cant ya get them pretty cheap from Summit or someone like that? This sounds like and idear for my busget SAS.

They are $140 each from summit.

RHG

Oh well never mind then, for a few more dollars you could get a pair of Marlin springs. Unless you got some from a junkyard or for free I guess it aint worth it

thanks guys...............i want to run 36's in my 4runner and i have crapy pro com springs in there right now with a 5inch drop hanger. I want to put my axle up a few inches (like the toy rears make it) I need to know what the over all length and the distance form the center pin to the front eye and the center pin to the back eye .

PS sorry for the stupidly long sentence  :hammer:

hey bud..ive run a few sets of these and, they are good springs, and flex well, but...if you wanna go cheap, go with a stock toy rear spring, flexes way better, and is stronger. and in most cases free, they also move your front axle another inch forward compared to the 44044, which will help with the rubbning on the cab issue that all flexy toys run into eventually

Ramrod

If your gonna buy springs buy some marlins. The fronts are on sale right now for $185 and the rears are a little more.  those would be nice

trailhunter

well this was my original plan.......................i was (and still might ) take the rear 4ich pro comp lift springs out and put them in the front and run chevys in the rear. But ive had nothing but trouble with my pro com springs and i hate them. So im stuck .................i can afford new springs but im cheap as hell. If i put the pro comp rears up front should i run a few extra leafs in the pack and ach them up an inch or two. Ive heard rears up front only give ya 2-3inch of lift. I have 5inch shackels up fronont as well.

What would you guys do to fit 36's comfortly and have mad flex with my pro comps springs.

And as for the chevys do i need to chang the mounting pionts on my frame?

Thanks for your input.

crawlerdan

yes you need to move the mounts, 11 inches eye to eye for the front, and 3.5 or 4 in the back(shackle hanger
) depending on how you like your angles, as for the procomp springs, you maty be able to get them to flex well, but the effort you will have to put into them will not be worth it, easier to get better springs. procomps were designed with one and only one purpose, to make your truck taller, not flexible, keep that in mind

trailhunter

they seem to flex alright in the rear but my front ones are just sad

what do you consider alright?, cause ive had toy rears in the front that flex in the neighborhood of two feet

trailhunter

how did you set the leaf pack up........did you get them re-arced and how much lifted did they give you?

I wanna know all the tricks.......dont hold back. I need this thing to flex like a hot very *friendly* person with her heals by her ears..................if you know what im sayin.

crawlerdan

front hanger moved 2 inches forward, and 2 inches down, shackles set under frame, at 40 degree angle, top three leaves toy rears, bottom three leaves, stock waggoneer leaves, ford shock towers, 14 inch travel shocks, it flexed more than most three links, and other setups ive seen, too much at times. i used limit straps to keep it under control. it had around three feet of travel realisticly, from top out to bump stop. good luck

trailhunter

 8)  :therethere:  thanks for the help man ill let you know how it works out for me

trailhunter

one more question ............i should build a new front hanger as well? And do you have any good pics of your set up?
