Quick Tranny Swap Question

Hello All,

Long story short, my transmission is dead (Doesn't shift between gears) and I am going to be swapping it out for a rebuilt one.  I have been reading the board, the tech manual, and spending some time under my truck (Pulled the drive lines out last night and disconnected the wires) so I think I have a pretty good idea what will be involved.

The one thing I am curious about though is; What is the best way to support the engine while it is in the truck (84 Pickup by the way)?  Any suggestions or pitfalls would be greatly appreciated.  i don't like big pieces of metal falling on my head.

A friend and I (mostly him) pulled the transmission on my 85 a few months ago for a clutch and we (again mostly him) used blocks of wood on top of the differential and between the engine and the firewall to support it while it was out.

  So simple i feel like a total Dork.  I just kept looking at my rachet straps and then back at my engine thinking what can i attatch this to?    You know how it is when you get stuck in one mind set?
