60s in a 3rd gen.

Hey all, i just recently picked up some 60s for my toyota, have had it for little over a month and already went to SAS with Toy diffs and bumpin up and be done with it with 60s front and rear. both stuffed with 4:56 gears, spool rear, welded front with hydro assit. here some pics, currently setting on 37" SSR , should have 40" Iroks on by thanksgiving time. here some pics of where im at now.

That's awesome So is this an Automatic I hope? 4.56 + 37" tires with 5spd =

70 MPH would be like 2300rpm with 40" tires.. My 3RZ could not do that for sure

nope shes a 5spd with a 3.0 V6, its going to be dual cased with a Dana 300 later

Actually....5.38's. 5.29 is a yota axle ratio.

I have 4.56 gears in my 60 and 14 bolt, but I'm also putting in a chevy V6

these 60s came from a 78 chevy k30. 4:56's arnt so bad plus it has the chain driven t-case that gives it alittle more low ratio, thats gonna need to be replaced with dual cases with a 300 and twin stick. update, bobbed the bed 16" today. just need to weld and bondo it up.

takes time, need to build the wider spring hanger and build my offset shackles. picking up my new 39" Iroks in about a week or so. seanc get gas tomarrow and will see you in the afternoon to knock this thing out.

So you kept the stock D60 width and didn't narrow it?  8)
I'm doing the same with mine, but I will be running a DRW D60 front and keeping it stock width with stock Hummers BL.
Post some closeup pics of the front spring hangers when you get a chance!

Why go through the pain of finding a D60 and then narrow the thing? Too expensive, youd be better off getting a custom setup from Dynatrac or something. I think most people go with the 60 specifically for the width, and the possibly the weight. Oh and by the way....I like it! Fullwidths look fawking awsome on a third gen.

thanx guys, got my 3.0 EFI running today (thanx SEANC!) and also got my new 39" IROKS also. spring hanger will be built tomarrow and maybe have the front end on its weight. also bobbed the bed more, wheelwell to cab is 6", took out 7". shorter WB for the tight trails

no prob paul. i love working on engines! don't forget to change your sig line to include the new 39.5" rubber! Paul and i are fabbing the front crossmember as we speak. will be on wieght soon!

How short is you bed length now, or how much did to cut out of both sides?

i believe the total on the bed is 20" cut out. not sure what the total length, bottem of wheel well is 4" away from the back of the cab.
