Batt ---> Fuse ----> Switch ---> Lights
Remember that like the old x-mas tree lights...if you wire something in series then if you lose the first light due to a bad bulb or something then out goes both or however many you have.
I like to use relays on my lights. Maybe the smaller wattage rock lights don't need them but my front 100W lights like the relay!
More importantly, and the whole purpose for even using a relay, is to mount the relay as close to the lights and the main power supply as possible. If your battery is in your engine bay, and your lights are in the back, then it's almost useless to use a relay since you will still have a resistance issue with the lenghty wires.In this case, Instead of dishing out $$ for the relay, get yourself some good 12 or 14 gauge wire for the power supply and grounds
