75mph! you lucky SOB. my truck would fall to pieces.

my truck will see a lot of huntin, so 35" for good probably. i wont say never, maybe someday some 37" MTR will find their way under there. im obsessed with MTR. super swamper suk ass. ;)

my stock ifs is so tired man, i cant wait for SAS. i outta take a pic of my front suspension and shocks, its sad.

tell me more about your built up 22R, im obsessed. :)
well, i did a complete rebuild of my 22r, i also had a 20r layin around in the storage garage and decided to use some parts off of that too. i ended up with a 22r block bored 20 thousandths over, machined crankshaft, 20r head machined to fit bigger valves, ported and polished head, double timing gear/chain off of the 20r, holley street dominaor intake (gasket match ported to the head), weber carb, header with 2.5 inch exhaust no cat and a high flow muffler. i also took the flywheel and clutch to the machine shop to get balanced. I did all the work myself (except machining) and it turned out great! I've been up to about 90 on the interstate and thats pretty much tops for me.

heres some pics of the holley intake. they're the best i could get for now. my roomates camera ran out of memory :(  in case you don't notice in the pic, after installing all the right adapters to attach my carb it ended up turning the carb 90 degrees. thats the only complaint i have about this intake because now my throttle cable attaches at a bad angle. I need to figure out a different way to mount the cable because when i get all flexed out on the trail it pulls the throttle cable and revs up my engine   kinda sucks! hopefully i can get it fixed soon.

22R is a great motor!!! I did a minor overhaul on mine, stripped all the emissions crap off, put in steel timing chain guides, weber 38 carb from LC Engineering, it runs 80's easily with 5.29's and 35" BFG M/T's, I just need to get a header some electric fans to free up some power.

bigger is better right? ;) ok ok ill go with 37" MTRs

you live in SD you lucky man! the black hills rule. The hunting and fishing there is actually good. Is there any commy smog laws there? Commiefornia is getting really shitty man.

im gonna get an EFI intake assembly and switch over to EFI. Screw going 4.3L or 2.7L on this truck, maybe on a future project.

that intake probably turned that carb 90 degrees for a reason.  If you might have noticed carb trucks don't like running with there nose pointed at the sky but they usually don't have too much of a problem running on there side so if you turn the carb you can go up hill better

We don't really have any smog laws or vehicle build and height restrictions. my truck has 2.5 inch exhaust with no cat and i don't have a bed or mud flaps and it's all legal!

I think thats y also. I can run my truck almost straight up and down and it still runs good, it gets a little cranky when i'm on my side though. i also worked on my throttle this weekend and i think i got it fixed up so it doesn't surge and pull any more. makes me happy!

that suxs everything where i live has to have mud flaps and its hard to get things smog exempt. but hes right bigger is always better just cut the fenders off and run 39" and tube the whole front end and life would be good!

anyways here is my cherry fan shroud, ready to bolt back on!

Hey mudmaster -- took the 85 long block I got from Greg over on Pirate apart and went to the machine shop yesterday.

Got some parts in from LC eng. a few days ago too. Intake and exhaust studs, stump puller flywheel, some breathers.

Its comin along slow. SAS is on hold until my shop is built.

Specs on my rebuild:

85 block bored .020 over/ Stock crank ground .010/.010
85 head with oversize stainless vavles
Engnbldr rebuild kit, water/oil pump, 260 cam
Weber 32/36 carb
Offy dual port intake
Thorley header / magnaflow muffler (no cat ;))
Davis DUI distrib/Davis wires
LC Eng. Stump puller flywheel

Will post pics soon. Engine block is painted. Crank/rods/pistons are in. Rear cover and main seal is on. Engine is on stand. Waiting for some crank keys, the machine shop apparently lost mine when they ground my crank. Maybe i will install my fiberglass fenders this weekend. Alright, thats is for now. Later yall.

Howdy all I am still alive and working on my yota. Just dropped the tranny on Sunday and set my new engine in Monday. Engine is completely rebuild new everything.
Gonna degrease the trans and tcase, they got 380k worth of crap of em. Prob. tear into them too since they are out just to inspect, they worked fine before.
Just ordered offy lower water block pate and manifold block off plugs from LC. After that some minor :pokinit: like hoses and my truck will be back on the road.
SAS - My shop is still under construction, once it is up I will have room and the 220v power to burn all the parts on.
Anyways hope to see you all on the trail ASAP!!!

Should have good HP increse with modified head, cam, offy intake, weber 32/36, thorley header, and LC distrib (running stock for now).

I dont know how this thing will run with all those mods, hopefully I can get it runnin good.

SAS is next, shop is taking forever! We keep getting delayed. But as soon as it's done I will drive to Fresno, pickup my parts, and swap in the solid front. It'll be sick as hell. I can't wait.
