Topic: Downey 3" rear lift springs up front question?

Does anybody know the lenght eye to eye and eye to center pin for Downey's 3 inch rear lift springs for 79-95 4wd trucks?  Also, does anybody know if they are the same or higher spring rate than stock rear springs?  I'm thinking about buy a set when I put a winch, bumper and 7M in my 85 PU.

i'd assume they're probably a little stiffer than stock.  i've got a set of 2" rears on the floor of my garage.  the nice thing about downey springs is that they're all mil-wrapped, so they'd be nice up front.

  I plan to do the same swap with the 3 inch Downey rears. I could probably get the measurments for you tomarrow when I go to my dads house.

That would be great.  I have 83 stock rears up front with two 5" skyjacker front springs now and it works great.  However I'm worried that the extra weight of a bumper, winch and the 7MGE will either kink the 83's around the skyjackers or the skyjackers will break at the center pin after a year or two of wheelin'.

downeys are almost identical to the stock springs length wise,you could use the 3 inch springs and there add a leaf and should be ok, the add a leaf is good for like 500lbs,

I just want to make sure that the front eye to center pin is around 20.5 to 20.75 inches.  My current springs are at 20.5 and I do not want to move the axle any farther back.  I've been thinking about their add a leaf also.  However I am a little bit worried about putting a leaf in the pack that has a much higher spring rate than the rest of the pack.  Thats what I have now with stock rears and 5 inch sky jackers under them.  Eventually the softer leafs will bend over the ends of the stiffer leaves if the stiffer leaf does not break at the center pin.

I used to have a Downey add a leaf in the rear of my taco.  It did not ride too bad.  However I have heard of a few taco people breaking that add a leaf.  I currently running Old Man Emu leaf packs in my taco.

all of the downey springs were the same as stocker toys,,just have a different spring rate..and IMO the downeys make awesome front springs(rears up front)..I used my old set up front and am very happy with there performance..I added in a few rear springs to make a 7 leaf pack..

Sorry it took so long to get the measurement, been busy but it is 20 and a half  inches .

Perfect.  Thanks for getting the measurments.  I think I might try them out on a trail rig that I am slowly building.  I'll probably use their add a leaf also since I will be running a 4.3 V6.
