Did a quick measuring tape alignment last night to get 1/4" to in up front and put in my bigger 1" bore master cylinder.  FYI: if your master cylinder doesn't come with the paper gasket that goes between it and the booster, you can make one out of a cereal box since it really isn't sealing anything........  Still need to bleed the brakes and the p/s system tonight.

I"m hoping that the front springs will settle some more after so the shacke angle will slant more.  I did some thinking and realized that the type of grease on the leaf spring and shackle bushings might make a difference in how the front end would settle out.  What type of grease is recomended for these bushings?  I used white lithium, should I have used black moly or moly-graphite?

Got the brakes blead as well as the p/s system.  The P/S box I had installed leaked like crazy and I couldn't determine where the leak was comming from untill I pulled it out.  It was leaking from a high pressure relief valve because the housing area around it was crushed - So I had to get another steering box.  Man does this thing steer easy now with the hysteer setup  :driving:

After running this thing a little, I noticed a leak where the bottom radiator hose comes off the radiator.  It seams that somehow durring the course of the swap and moving the radiator all over, the lower radiator hose flange got bent/crushed a little bit.  Does anyone know an easy way to make it all round again?

I saw that Mike.  Good job on finding the fix for it.  Mine has been working fine ever since I installed the ORS harness and did the 10k ohm resistor mod, I'm not really sure why.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it....

Ok guys, I'll have to see what I can do when I get home.  I've never posted a video before and have very little experience with my video camera so we will see how good it turnes out.

Also, do you have any pictures of where you installed this resistor and perhaps a circuit drawing of its implementation?

Thanks
Mike

No Mike I don't, but I did it just like 4RunnerRick's 10k ohm mod, except his was on a turbo cluster.  Mine had to go in a slightly different spot on the circuit board for the tach, but it was easy to figure out.

I just took some video of the tach working and I hope to figure out how to get it posted on here.  Has anyone ever used a Sony HDD camcorder and knows how to post videos from it?

Ok, I couldn't figure out how to post it directly from my computer to here, so I had to post it on youtube.  Here's the link to the video:

LOL.....Pat, I wouldn't know how to chop a video if my life depended on it.

You can tell in the video that I was playing with my headlight switch.  The bright light indicator turns on whether the lights are on bright or dim because the PO had some KC's on the front bumper that were wired into the headlight circuit.  I still have to fix the harness that he botched and wire my auxillary lights the right way.

So recently I got my rear e-locker back that was re-geared to 5:29's, so I need to build up my rear end and get finishing up the rear susupension.

I also realized that I will have to use this truck as a daily driver sometime in the near future, so I decided to ditch the nice PRP's and bought a set of MkIII Supra seats for daily duties.  These should make it easier to climb in and out of the truck and I get the added bonus of having enough room for a center console again.

I guess that I will be trying the 10k mod sooner than later. I hate not having a tach.

I too DID NOt have any issues with my 87 turbo tach working with my 02 3rz with 4runnerricks 10k ohm mod and a ors harness.

Now all you need to do is show us where the resistor goes so I can get 88_Pathy's tach working :yesnod:

I may have to tear down the dash again one of these days to install the inclinometer I have.  If I do, I'll snap some shots of the 10k Ohm resistor mod.  Right now, I have to finish a minor remodle of our bathroom before I can get back on this truck.

No,  I remember looking at 4RunnerRick's 10k Ohm mod he did on a turbo cluster for a guidline.  The circuit board on the turbo tach was a little different than the regular 22re board, but it was pretty easy to figure out.

If you don't sell your 'Runner soon.  BTW, nice IS you have Marc.  Is that a 5 speed or auto?

check around on yotatech, there are guys who are making them for people in their garages. I paid a guy $200 on there for a conversion harness for a 3.4 swap

I dont remember, I will be happy if i never have to take my dash apart either, getting the speedo cable in the back of the cluster was a pain in the balls. :hammer

Mike i heard either Mike the guy who owned ORS or the guy he had making them will still make and sell them. Either way i would send a email to ORS website and ask becuase Mike still resonds to the ORS emails. It was worth $600 in my book since i suck at electrical. :twocents:

Well here's an update:

Lately, I've been working on installing Marlin's 4" trail flex kit.  I still need to install the front bump stops, front and rear shocks, and lengthen the driveshaft.  I did get front and rear e-lockers re-geared and installed with 5:29's and a IFS length rear axle.  I still need to wire up the e-lockers too.
