Hey all,  I just put In my dual cases and Marlin dual case crossmember and have been plagued with vibrations. I have my drive shaft made by Jesse at High angle and cut and relocated perches so pinion angle is 1*. After many hours of poking around i noticed that one of the bolts on the transfercase is contacting the dual case crossmember under load. I feel that this is the cause of my vibration. At rest there is only about 1/8'' of clearance from the head of the bolt to the cross member. I am running the factory '85 mount and a second mount from an unknown year but is identical. Im wondering if they are shot or if my motor mounts are shot. I also notice that the large centering pin protrudes well past the bottom of the crosmember. I figgured that this was normal. not sure now... Will tightening the center bolt help any?

second bolt from the front contacts crossmember.

next picture shows amount of protrusion of the center pin

In other words your t-case mount is worn and needs replacing. ;)

i had the same prob.... i replaced the factory mount with new toyota units, marlin sells them also.. you may want to look at energy bushings as they have been talking about releasing a toy bushing replacement...ooo. energy bushings

well i changed out the rear t-case mount with a new factory V6 mount from Marilin and put the better of the two in the front. No change. Other than another new mount im not sure what else to do.  Is that little of clearance normal?

I have a BudBuilt 1.25 inch lift in mine & when I installed it I had a similar vibration & it was the Short throw shifter housing bolts on the rear case were pressed up into the body. I cut the hole bigger & did some body work w/a BFH & it solved it Immediately

I don't know who made my crossmember since a club member gave it to me but when I first installed it, I had a bad vibration too. Turns out that the top of the trans was in contact with the trans tunnel, I put a piece of flat steel as a spacer and it now clears and the vibration is gone.
