Marlin Front Hanger Install Question

88 Runner installing Marlin SAS.

So I have mounted the rear hangers for the front springs and am now getting ready to do the front hanger.

I noticed that when the Marlin Spring Hanger is held flush against the front of the frame there is a gap between the top of the hanger and the bottom of the frame.

Is this normal ? Looks like it is due to the cornors of the front frame. Gap is very small but it is not flush all the way across, only on the ends.

No accidents and the frame is straight. What did you guys do to accomodate this ? Leave it ? sandwicjh a plate between ? Grind the ends ?

Stop worrying and burn it in place.  Thats just the way yota frames are made.

mine was the same way i just put some plate between them and welded it up.

git er done, slide some flat strap in the gap...wala...no more gap.

Hey man, it will be alright, just burn it on.  They all do that.  I would not put any strap in there, you dont want to burn the hanger to the strap more than the frame.  I would just stich weld it, front, back and sides.

Here is what I did.  It is hard to tell in the pic but as you can see I have D-Rings on the front of my frame area.  I wanted to strengthen the hell outta my frame and the hanger area so I welded a piece of plate to the frame and the hanger, it is pretty damn thick, not sure anymore what it was though. 

It really strengthened it up, then I welded my D's to the plating.
