Next I found my second favorite tool, JB Weld and mixed me up a small batch.

For those of you who don't know, JB Weld is an epoxy that bonds to about anything, so there are two parts you need to mix together to make it hold.  One is called "Hardner" (red tube) and the other is called "Steel" (black tube).  Now remember, there are several types of JB weld.  I just used the basic stuff which takes about 24 hours to cure completely.  There is some one-hour cure stuff that works pretty well (it's still holding a hole in my radiator in my bronco for over 2 years).

Anyway, I like to put some hardener down and then the steel on top of it so it looks like a big pile of bird poo.  The directions say to use equal parts of each and that has always worked for me.

Mix it up until you get a nice gray color.  Also remember to mix it in something that you can throw away because what ever is left is very hard to wash off.  In my case I use the top of a CD-R case and a piece of a clothes pin to mix it.

Anyway, enough with the JB.  I got my grille lined up and started spreading on the JB.  I use the clothes pin kinda like a putty knife and slathered it on.  I'm just putting it on the back for now so I don't have any ugly gray on the front, not that looks matter!!

I also used the bottom attachment pieces that I cut off.  I used them for supports behind the JB seam.

I just spread some JB on the piece, pressed it on and then covered it with more JB.  I just did the top two sections because that is all I had pieces for and I wasn't satisfied with the amount of JB coverage I got.

After that, I'm just letting it set for a day to cure.  I'm letting a fan blow on it to help speed things up.

Well, not mine.  It already looks like that!   :rofl2:

I didn't get much done on the flat bed this weekend.  Saturday I fought with the fuel heater shorting out on my DD so that blew the day.  Today Yota on 40s and Infernal and I got together and put together the bottom frame.  I didn't get much of that done because I was having a hard time getting used to the flux core welder.

Anyway, here's some pics from today.  Hopefully Yota will post up some that he took, but I hope none of my booger welds!!

Great, another f*gg!t talking :pokinit:,and beeing a little Jeep hater.  :shake:  Man,I've gotten so many comments like that on here,it's not even funny. But you know what?.They're allways from f*gs who I'll never see out on the trail. In other words, they don't come from people who have the balls to say anything to my face...Just on the net.Oh well, whatever,I don't think you're a real Wheeler anyway,so it dont matter.Oh,and you should get your queer  :stopit:   eyes checked.Seems like you're seeing pink, when it's really orange. That's a sign of homosexuality.

I flipped it over this morning to look at how the front turned out.  I'm pretty pleased with the booty-fab JB weld job.

My damn cat thinks she has to be in every picture.

Nice, you are the booty fab champion of the day...you could hit that with a little bondo to fill the hole and paint it up!
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Got quite a bit done today, but I didn't take any pics cause I forgot my damn camera!!  Welded the deck plate down on the main bed.  I also got the riser welded up for the "fenders" on the bed.

Hopefully 40s (or should I say 38.5s now) or Infernal will post up some pics.

Here's the work we got done today.  For the most part, the flatbed is finished, I just need to weld in some more diamond plate and add some braces.  I also need to get my rear crossmember done and my lights mounted.  I'm not putting them in any particular order cause I'm damn tired and I want to blow up my F-250!! :maddest:

Weekend update:  Plans are to finish the diamond plate, put rear crossmember in and taillights, and trim the hood so it will actually shut.
