Gonna fork out the cash and go with the all pro flat bed kit.  Just a quick question, how thick are you guys running your deck plates??  I was thinking 3/16" or maybe 1/8".

I'm sure someone on here knows though.

Be willing to pay upwords of $150.  I was gonna order a sheet of just regular diamond plate, that was over $120 alone.  Aluminum is gonna cost a lot more.

yotaboy79

i work at a steel shop so i can check tomarrow im up in oregon so the prices may be a little different from where you are but it should give you a ball park figure

I was just curious on the aluminum prices, I was expecting to pay around $150 for a sheet for the steel.  I'll probably pick up an 8x10 sheet, should be enough.

Well All Pro is out of their main hoop for their flatbed kit until next week sometime.  I'm gonna pick up everything but the main hoop.  I'm having the main hoop bent up for me a Toyota Masters in Corona.  Great guys if you ever deal with them.  Anyway, I decided to go 14 ga. for the steel diamond plate.  It's cheaper, plus it won't add a lot of weight.

I figure with by big pimpn' Warn  :pimp: decal on the hood, I don't need the  :bling: of aluminum.

Why won't anyone take my advise and hook up a wooden flatbed with abut 10 coats of varnish...it will be super nice lookin, way cheap, and easy as hell to touch up...plus waterproof!

Well, not mine.  It already looks like that!   :rofl2:

I didn't get much done on the flat bed this weekend.  Saturday I fought with the fuel heater shorting out on my DD so that blew the day.  Today Yota on 40s and Infernal and I got together and put together the bottom frame.  I didn't get much of that done because I was having a hard time getting used to the flux core welder.

Anyway, here's some pics from today.  Hopefully Yota will post up some that he took, but I hope none of my booger welds!!

I very easily could be the same rig.  I bought it from a guy in San Andreas, around Stockton.  I think he bought it from another guy up around that area.

No prob, thanks for letting me borrow the trailer.  I picked up a HF notcher today.  Did your guy's welder come with the MIG regs and stuff.  If so I'm thinking about picking up a bottle of steel mix and some normal wire and trying that.  I'm also thinking about picking up a Lincoln MIG set-up from the Home Dee-pot.

Hey does Infernal have bigger boggers than yotaon40s? They look bigger in a pic but it could be just the slope of the driveway. Keep welding and taking pics

we got the same size boggers(39.5) but Infernal has 15x10's so it makes his tire taller,I got 15x14's and my tires sit lower.  :beerchug:

I think it might be a little bit of optical illusion too with 40s back end sitting lower.

After looking through at 40's picks of my rig, I decided I needed to narrow up my grille to match my "custom"  :sly: dove nose.  When the PO rolled it, the corners of the core support got dinged up.  When I put fenders on, it had a dove-nose to it so now I need to narrow my grille.

Here's a quick mini how-to.

First, measure how much you need to take out of your grille.  I'm pretty sure all 2nd gens measure around 56" or at least mine did.  I needed to take out four inches to make it fit.  I took out the best tool I could find, SAWZALL, and cut it on the marks.  I cut it out of the center section of the grill to make it look a little more even.
