Like the title says, what vehicles came with a pass drop 60 front axle and center rear?  Is there specific years that are more desirable than others?  I really haven't used 1 ton hardware before, but considering it on my next project.  Thanks!  :beerchug:

chevy one ton 4x4s came with pass drop 60s and 14 bolt rears, early dodge 1 ton 4x4s came with pass drop 60s, and 60 or 70 or 80 rears, depending on dually or deisel or big block v8 ect.- really- the older(late 70s and 80s) the axles, the easier to work with and the cheaper to  build

Dont bother with newer Dodge drivetrain. I had a 97 1500 and I had nothing but problems with the axles. Rear was the chrysler though but it had c-clips=gay. They front was a 44 but ti was just a beefier verion of the heeps 35. I wore out axle seals like no other because it was a constant rotation axle. No manual hubs. I fried a u joint in the pass side real bad one time. A normal truck you just unlock the hubs and your good to go but nope, i rounded out the ear on my stub shaft soo bad that I had to tack weld the new u joint in. Its all crap I tell ya! :soapbox:

well newer dodges also have driver side drop 60's.
and if you can get you hands on a set of 1tons out of a 80's military chevy that would be nice(front d60 with 4:56 gears and rear 14bolt with 4:56 also and a detroit rear  :drooling: )

IIRC Chevy started with the front 60 in '77 and used it up until '86. My Dodge front is out of an '85. If you can find one out of a truck from '80 and newer, it will have the non-neck down inner axles which are known to be stronger than the earlier neck-down shafts. Good luck and be prepared to  :moon:  as people who have them think they are gold. My first front 60 was a hook up deal of $500 about 4 yrs. ago. My latest was reasonable @ $850 about 1.5 yrs. ago. Now I'm hearing $1000 plus easily and more likely $1200-$1500  :yikes:

I got my dana 60 and 14 bolt out of a 87 chevy 1 ton. It has 4.56 gears and detroit locker in the rear. It must have been a military chevy.
