82' Toyota Crawler
« on: Aug 02, 2005, 06:24:15 PM »
I'm gauging interest in my rig, as most of you know it's got an engine problem that's beyond my mechanical skill so i'm thinking about selling it.

This rig's been through the Con and Fordyce many times without any problems. Built it for rocks but it's good in any terrain, did very well last winter up at High Lakes in the snow.

Here's what it's got

22R with about 70,000 on it rebuilt
5 speed tranny with marlin crawler dual cases
custom drivelines
5.29's front and rear
lockright up front and detroit in rear
both axles rebuilt with new bearings and brakes
15x10 black rockcrawler rims
37x12.5x15 goodyear MTR's  (95+% tread)
RS 5012's all around with ford towers in front
RS44044 in front and 63"chevy's in rear
shackles and boxdrops plus 3" body lift
Marlins hysteer with ifs box
Marlin Dual T-case cross member
Freshly rebuilt Marlin Tranny, clutch, pressure plate and pilot bearing (less then 30 miles)
K&N, Custom exhaust by M&M muffler with free flow cat and flowmaster
Bed bobbed 14" and herculined
delta toolbox
extended brakelines
interior totally redone
Honda Accord seats
kenwood cd player with two 6x9's in doors and 250 watt amp

All it needs is new paint..
Extras:
front hide a winch bumper
tera flex shackles
Doors laid out ready to be cut for Half doors

There's probably some stuff i'm missing, i'll post if I remember anything else.

Like I said, this rig is as solid as it gets!  There isn't a single problem wrong with ANYTHING besides this darn engine problem that I cant figure out. Check my post on "My 82' 22R is Plagued" if you want further information on the engine problem or feel free to e-mail me with any inquires.

Located in N.California about 30 miles North of Sacramento

I'd really like to get $5000 for it, it has well over twice that much in parts alone.

Yea i'm waiting for this other mechanic to get back with me in 30 min's to see if he fixed the problem. If not its off to Burkett's... im still going to try and get it fixed but i'm just about at the end of my string here with idea's.

Dont worry BigMike if worse comes to worse i'll part it or sale it and get another rig.

I already have my eye on a few.

I dont want to get rid of the rig but not sure what else I can do.   :conf:

Update 8-19

Trucks running and idleing now but its running rough. Ran propane around the intake manifold and the carb base and it seems to rev up so I have suspicion that it might have a vacuum leak around one of those gaskets.
