snorkel shmorkel, dont get one of those, unless of course you plan on crossing the atlantic
suck in dust and if the water is up to your carb (I'm not EFI) you're already stuck
. Also dialectric(sp) grease is supposed to keep the water out and the spark in
no one has said anything about the hole in the bottom of the dist.near where it bolts into the head. i used dielectirc grease on everythingand water still got in. so i removed the dist. and filled the hole with silicone.its never got water in it since. and yea i run a homemade snorkle since the83 gets its intake air from the headlite area. also make sure your air cleaneris sealed around the top well.
I was wondering when someone would mention silicone... That's what I'd recommend....hey, it'd even help you float
