Not sure about trail conditions since we have had a late winter, but we are planning on running the Dusy Ershim trail August 25th - 28th.  We have a pretty well equipped group, but it's always nice to have other wheelers along for company and security.

And as always, Marlin and all of his staff are more than welcome on our trips.

Mr. Ross!
Good to see you on here!
I wont be able to make the Dusy, but what do you guys have planned for November/December?

CruzrDave

Well the trail is not open yet but should be by the trip date. I need to check the dates but I might like to tag along with you guys. I love that trail and I've been getting stuck working Thursdays and fridays while most of the shop has been out wheeling. Things got to change

Thanks!

We have a trip to Moab in October, but past that we don't really have any concrete plans.  I imagine we will do some snow camping though!

Cool, it would be great to have you along.  A few of us are leaving the Bay Area around 8AM that Thursday and meeting the rest of the group at the staging area at 2PM.  We're then going to wheel to the north end of Courtright and camp there Thursday night.  We figured it would make for a little easier day getting everyone up Thompson hill on Friday.  So far the plan is to arrive at the White Bark vista end sometime Sunday afternoon.

Dusy is definitely the greatest trail in the Sierra!

Awesome!  I look forward to seeing you guys up there!  I'll be at the back of the pack in a blue Taco going *really* slow thanks to Marlin!   :driving:

Sorry you guys couldn't make it, it was a great weekend up there.  There was lots of great wheeling and some creative trail repairs!  I put up some pics here:

I'm looking at your pics and I've heard of welding by linking up batteries but what exactly is being used in those photos? What kind of unit is in his hand?   Thanks!

Hi Mike.  There's always next summer!  IMHO Dusy is the most excellent trail in the Sierra!

Hi Matt.  That's my Readywelder II.  It has seen tons of use on the Rubicon, Dusy, and other trails.  It uses .035 flux core wire, and as bulky as it is, it seems to work well for trail repairs.

Pulling a couple batteries can be a pain sometimes, but you do what you gotta do to get off the trail!   :shocking:

Sweet Photo!

That's Kirk from AZ.  I think he showed up at your shop for a tie rod or drag link or something.
