Rear you shouldn't need a new driveline, front you prolly will.

Hyena

I don't have the kit, but i know from the lift amount it will give you.  The front driveline will pull apart.

Go to www.marlincrawler.com/springs.html . The pickup has the 4" kit with 37" tires. The video link is CJ"s 85 runner with 4" kit and 35" claws.

Heres mine installed.  I love it. I have the 5" springs in the rear for the added wieght of the top. & the 4" up front.

BirdDog

CruiserDave did the install.  I bought a High Angle Drive Line for the front. The rear I had done by Fresno Drive Line.

Curran

Sorry for the NewB question folks, but are there any instructions floating around here to help install this kit?
Thanks,
Curran

8" Long Spline Shaft kit that marlin sells work for the front? And does the stock rear drive line still reach?

Rear driveshaft is golden, you won't even come close to maxing it out.  In the front I run a High Angle Driveline long slip shaft.

Are those the 36*15.5 Irok's?  What size shackle did you run?  When you take the top off, does the rear have a bit more lift than the front?  Sorry for the 20 questions, I'm just trying to figure out what I want to run on my 84 4Runner.  I've got some rears for the front and F-150's for the rear but I keep eyeing that kit

I thought about peicing together a SAS for my truck but the more I think about it, I am just going to order up the kit. A bit pricey but its worth it, and hey im sure its beneficial to Marlins Retirement plan.

Hard to beat a setup where everything is there and the right specs and made to work together.  Hell, all you have to do is line it up right and  :flamer:

:werd: Thats the way I look at it. I'd rather spend some dollars and have pile of new parts that are tried and  true to work together than jack around with junkyard parts that I need to manipulate with the hammer to go under my truck.

Some of my boys helped me install my kit.  Majority of the swap took about 2 days.  Since a whole lotta stuff needed to come off, I also decided to get with a dual-t-case set up at the same time and get it over with.  I initially purchased Marlin's X-Over Steering kit with a rebuilt PS box; the 4" lift kit I purchased ala carte along with the t-case adapter.  The following pix are only with 33 Chapparel street tires, although I do have 36 Iroks I need to eventually stuff under my 84.  Gas tank removal was fun, as part of the front of the rear spring hanger on the passenger side needed to be completely welded.  Prepping axles required grinding and torching.  As far as drive shafts, I decided to go local here in Hawaii.  At least if something goes wrong, I can actually see a human face to face and rectify the problem in one or two days; it was simply a a logistical thing.  I also leaped for a Marlin x-member.

Bottom line, the Trail flex kit is awesome from what I see so far...

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting some pictures of the kit in action!  Looks like it working out well for ya.  How's the ride on the streets?

My 84 drives like a caddy.  I cruise at highway speeds (55mph in Hawaii) with NO problems.  My friends tell me that the Iroks shouldn't give me any problems either.  Of course, I am planning to swap tires IF I am going to drive my rig on road a lot.  Otherwise, I plan to leave the Iroks on; we'll see.

Most happy.

It seemed everyone here in Hawaii had the All Pro kit.  I like to be different, and glad I chose the path I did.  Overall customer experience was good; missing parts and questions were quickly rectfied/ answered.

Got Marlin?

:)

You don't half to weld the whole spring mount on.  Just keep the gas tank in and weld as much as you can.  If the welds are good it won't rip off.  I have abused my spring mounts andthey are only welded on 3 sides and still holding strong.  Just easier to do and still strong.

My friends wanted me most likely out of the way when they were putting my truck together, so they probably gave me a menial task to perform while they did the real work.  Oh well.  I agree, but then again, what are friends for?    :screwy:

You might want to try to get the tubing a bit closer to the body...it is gonna help you fit down trails immensly.

I'm not here to talk :pokinit:, but I would seriously consider tucking that tube closer to the body. You will want more variety as you start to wheel more and the trails you are running now will not satisfy your needs. When that day comes you may not be happy with such a wide truck. What is the tube made of because you said it was very light. Be careful because if you do flop that stuff may just collapse and cause you more problems if it is too light. Just my  :twocents:
