Guess I will try this without jumping into someone else's thread, sorry bout the bobj  :smack:

My current project is an 85 p/u. It's got 5.29's, EZ locker in the front, Detroit in the rear, 8 inch Alcans/front leaf pins moved 2" forward, and 37" SSR's. More to come when the money does, but a military budget is a tight one :usa:

Let me know if the pics show up alright, I've been having trouble getting them to post.

toynorcal

No, thats my buddys. We started our projects at the same time, his turned out pretty rugged. I just hit the bottom of my wallet a long time before he did. I would move it out of his drive way, but I dont have steering yet.

:welcome:  Truck looks good with axle forward and 37's. Only 2" forward?  I've been at steering stage a while myself...

Yes its only 2", but it did give a lot in the way of wheel base   After a post on pirate that led me no where, I called Marlins boys and they clued me in. I am pretty sure I have no choice but to use Marlins High Steer setup (darn huh) :gap:  Here is a closer look man

BobJ

I'm thinking I'll be needing taller arms myself in very near future. What were special features of marlin kit?

toynorcal

I honsetly dont know what Marlins high steer benefits are besides that their is billet, FJ 80 ends, and half ton rods in their set up. I'm sure someone has pics of theres, I just havent see it installed. But Marlins tech guys explained that as long as the leaf pack measures 2" or less with the axle moved up to 2" forward, their high steer should clear the leafs. Thats been my main concern with my steering.

BobJ

I've thought about it myself. I have a pic of truck with allpro arms hitting ps spring when flexed.  I know I'll be adding leafs pretty soon...
