Well I got to cut more of the firewall out today to make room for the distributor. So I got the distributor in and the spark plug wires in, also I put the computer in and made a battery mount today. I put 5 gallons of gas in it and filled the radiator up also; just one thing was missing to fire it up. The wires to the coil, I kind of forgot about them so I need to get those wires hopefully on Sunday when crawlerdan and I go to pick-n-pull.

Sweet man.  I was wondering when you'd get this beast running.  I'm still planning on making it down your way one of these days to wheel with you and Dan.

How far away are you from getting it driveable?

I still need to adjust the clutch slave cylinder, I can't get it in gear. Also need to put the electric fan on and rout some wires to the ignition. I jump started it last night. Putting some gauges in the cab too before I drive it.

I love it. Jump-starting is such a glorious starting method.
It also makes for a good show sometimes for the neighbors!

You can even get them involved if you need more speed!

Awesome job!

ever heard of after market bolt on overdrives?? same thing, but its an under drive. it is placed inbetween the tranny and the tcase and acts as a doubler, it has a 1:1 high, and a 2.8?:1 low or 4:1 low
toybuilts is the 2.8 version, its cable operated and can handle nearly infinate torque loads as it is an all billit case with billit gears and hardened shafts....it really is a thing of glory...and worth its weight in gold

just ask toybuilts credit card company

aaron: is it front wheel burn out time?? :willynilly: :willynilly:

Well my truck was running fine till this afternoon. The only way I can start it is wide open throttle, and it will not idle anymore  :(  If anyone can think of something as to why that could help, thanks.

fuel filter plugged, fuel pressure regulator shot? injectors clogged? low fuel pressure?

what kind of filter and fuel pump are you running?

Both the fuel filter and pump came with the Howell wiring harness. I now that the filter is a ford. Everthing is new on the engine including all the sincers. It sounds like crap now and it will only run with wide open throttle, sounds like somethings goin to blow up when you do though :headscratch: :dunno:

check the timing again...things have a tendancy to stretch a little (timing chains)

also check the position of your throtle position sensor as well as your cam and crank sensors

also check that EVERYTHING is grounded properly, computer-motor-ignition-coil-EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL!!!!

this is what was wrong with the runner a while ago, bad grounds

later bro

Grounding is not the problem, neither is the timing. However my dad and I did a diagnosis check on it and it came up as a code 45. A code 45 is the engine is runnig really rich, part of it I beleave is the injectors. The other part could very well be the throttle position sensor. Time will tell, I have a rebuild kit ordered for the injectors, it will be here sometime  next week.
