My truck is right around 6'10" as of now, but as soon as I get the engine and tranny in it will drop about 2 inches I'm thinking.

Well seeing that I don't have a plazma cutter I had WFO shave my 14 bolt for me. I had to grind about a 1/4" off my diff cover so nothing was hanging over the diff and the gastet was perfect size did not have to cut any off of the bottom.

On the 14 bolt all I did was disc brakes and shave the diff or I should say I had WFO do it for me.

Well this is how far I am on my engine, I'm going to have my exshaust manifolds cleaned today hopefully.

it will have an estimated 275 horses, stock was about 260, so with the addition of a free flowing exhaust and intake, as well as the over boring and lack of a/c and smog stuff, should be 10-20 more hp

i thought that 4.3 liters had about 140-190 horsepower!!!
so if a 4.3 has only 140 hp...or even 190hp..and my 22r has over 175...and weighs a few hundred pounds less..why is everyone putting them in toyotas?? that would be stupid....according to chevrolet:

"equipped with the 4.3-liter V-6 engine, rated at 190 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque. The five-passenger Blazer has, with the rear seat upright, almost 30 cubic feet of cargo room. Folding the rear seat forward opens up..... "    so i was thinking torque when i comented earlier, so given those numbers, and what aaron has done and is planning on doing, i think a safe est. would be 215- 225hp, 260-280 ftlbs. tq.

which again makes me wonder why people do this swap seeing as its not all that difficult to make a 22r produce 200 hp or close to it, i have owned one that was still very streetable at nearly 200hp and weighed alot less than a 4.3....... :dunno: :headscratch:

regardless, good job aaron, and that thing better be in the truck this weekend!!!
dont make me come down there jr. :gap:

OK those numbers sound a little better.  The reason I think people are swapping those engine in is more of the torque output and because its less expensive to put them in.  Yes they do weight more but they do produce a bit more torque.  The 4.3 vortec that is going in my buggy is normally the usual 190 horse but with just the smog crap taken off it will produce more than 220 horse.  Thats with just removing parts.  I only have $900 into my engine and when I rebuilt my last 22re it was more than $900 and I was only going to get around 160 horse and ? torque.

I'm not werried about exra wait, and I'll have double the power or more than my 22r had. Also I'm going to be alot stronger with my new running gear than a Toyota running gear. Plus I like the sound of American muscle, even though this is not a v8 it will still sound big and bad  :disturbed: and I like that.

Well yesterday I was torking my exhaust manifolds to speck and one of them got tight. So I was workin it back and forth but the bolt wasn't movin much and then decided to snap off on me. So today after work my dad got out his easy out and we were able to drill a hole in the center of the bold and take it right out   So now my exhaust manifold in on and torked. Now I'm ready bolt my engine up to the trans and slid it in my truck :yesnod:

Well I thought I was goin to get pretty far along on my truck after work but it didn't work that way. I wanted to get the engine and trans bolted up and put in my truck. I got the flywheel on and the clutch on. It’s lined up real nice too. But the damn transmition wouldn't go in to the engine. My dad and I were workin on it for a while we were using bolts and bolting it together but I wasn't really happy with it so we took it back apart and nothings wrong with any peace and everything is right so I'm going to put the engine in by its self tomorrow after work and I'll have to barrow a transmition jack to put the trans in.
