Oooops
« on: Jun 24, 2005, 05:27:03 PM »
Well a couple months ago some birds decided to build a nest on top of my air conditioner.  They had babies, they drove my nuts.  I brushed it off thinking they'll be grown soon.  They haven't shut the hell up for two months, all I hear is there little chirping and squeeking....

So I decided to shoot them, only problem is I missed and hit my air conditioner.

Silly boy you dont shoot them till they are away from the a/c unit.  Get a broom and shoo them away and into the grass so that the slugs wont ricochet after they pass through the birds body.  Next time think ahead.

Come live in the country for 27 years and see how far the city type protect all the animals attitude go's. ;)

There are few animals that serve a purpose around here.  Cows, horses, sheep etc. basically all forms of livestock have a purpose so they are good to have around.  The starlings, sage rats, rockchucks, seagulls etc. dont.  They are all pest's and they will all die if they happen upon my little 5 acre plot of dirt out in the country.

Funny but I am convinced that its a good thing that there are more and more fertility problems popping up.  It may sound radical but Id like to see a license needed in order for people to breed.

high five WT! I'd like to see a REASON for people to breed. Our planet is multiple times over populated as it is, we do nothing but corrupt the planet. we have no need to be here but for our own arrogance.

I have a dumbass neighbor---he had a golden garden spider(non-poisonous very beautiful and do a great job of killing mosquitos)  set up a web on his poarch---- instead of knocking the web down with a broom or spraying the spider w/ some bug killer he decided that a 12 gauge with buckshot would be more effective......long story short he blew a hole through his ceiling and a large hole in his roof..........3 days later the spider built a web where the hole was  :roflsign: :smoke:
That's how I roll

They're babies, they never leave, ever.  And it's on the second floor, no way to shoo them with a broom either.

I did think ahead, so I used a .22 instead of birdshot.

Hell yeah, any rodent that wonders onto my property is getting killed.

City folks think I'm nuts.  But I really don't like ground hogs digging holes everywhere in my yard and pigeons shitting everywhere.

now that someone brought it up, I can't stop looking!!  :eyecrazy:

It's a BIG spider, and when you hit one of their webs, YOU KNOW IT!   :scared:

Of course not so big it can't be squished, but they are BIG. YOu really have to watch for them if you're out riding first thing in the morning.

This picture above is a good example of the size, but most of them are ver beautifully colored. If you can avoid running in to them they are really cool looking and make incredible webs.

I remember one time, when we were off mudbogging, I went off into the brush to use the "ladies room". I walked smack dab into a web.  :yikes:  It'll about stop you in your tracks. Of course I did the crazed spider web dance to get the web off me, but as I continued on my way it occured to me I could have a spider on my back.  :shocking:  Of course this freeked me out all over and I couldn't get my shirt off fast enough! Fortunately I was far enough away no one was witness to this insanity!!  :rofl2:

all spiders bite (they gotta eat :disturbed: ) not all are aggressive, and all spiders are poisonous to some level, some just doesn't affect us.

From a couple web sites:

All spiders can and will bite if in danger or accidentally touched e.g. in shoes or clothing. Any spider bite can cause a reaction. Different people may react in different ways so it is best to be cautious around all spiders and look but do not touch any spider no matter how it is rated.

The females of the Golden Orb reach an imposing 45mm (nearly two inch) body length but they are basically harmless. These spiders are placid enough that they even allow other small species of spiders to cohabit their web in a symbiotic relationship (each contributes something which benefits the other). Commonly encountered in the Wet Tropics, the Golden Orb can also be seen around buildings.
