what is the best way to get the tar like stuff (you no the black stuff)  out of the EFI intake of a yota
would a hot tank do it i have access to one
id just scrubb the hell out of it but i cant get to it all

a hot tank will eat the aluminum...
brake cleaner will work, or a solvent tank if used carefully
You win some, you lose some.

wire brush won't work?  use brake cleaner.

I used Diesel attached to an air compressor hose.

Makes a perfect parts cleaner.

I've put alum parts in a parts washer with no worries or problems before.,,as long as its not a sonic tank I think your ok..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

parts washers are fine, all they use is solvent.  the black good in an EFI intake is carbon from the EGR, carbed trucks don't have this problem since the air/fuel mix enters before the EGR port and it washes it all away.

Should have no problem cleaning aluminum with heat. At work everyday I clean aircraft parts in a 150 degree ultrasonic cleaner with a mixture of water and soap. Been doing this type of work for 20+ yrs.
Time to go wheelin!

a parts wahser is different than a hot tank, a hot tank uses very hot very abusive solvent, whereas a parts washer use lower grade solvent so the parts don't get eaten away as fast  ;)
