has anyone ever heard of stress fractures on the 4runners fiberglass tops? i sanded all the "texture" off my top to paint it, and found some small cracks. the truck has only been offroad twice in its history.,(ive only owned it for a few months) any ideas? :headshake:

Probably made with polyester resin...not the strongest stuff.  Best fix is to v-notch the fractures and fill with a nice tight weave glass cloth and some epoxy two part resin.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

If you find a good sized crack be sure to drill the ends of the crack so the chances of it reoccurring are lessened. ;)
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

I have never seen it on the Yota top, but I used to refinish yachts in college and the older ones were done with poly resin, saw cracking and delamination all the time.
