Painted the hood not too shabby for rattle can.

I may do a two tone on the roof and door tops with this gun metal I painted the hood and tops of the fenders with.

I finished the bed tiedowns

Thanks for the welding on this RJ.

I spent a good portion last night laying some tiger hair and some bondo on the floor to fix some spots of rust on the floor around the back where some plugs had been missing and water had been leaking in for a few years.

My buddy John went outside the garage for a smoke and a heard some kind of noise of a animal being killed.
He went closer for a look and lynx or bobcat growled at him. He said he didn't see it fully because it was dark but it definately was big.
He was like holy crap and ran into the garage. A few people heard it. I didn't hear it since I was grinding some metal.
I was debating to go get my shotgun but I would only shoot it if it attacked me or someone.
They are kinda rare to be found in city areas but I guess with the urban sprawl they are moving in.

Thanks. I still have to put the front bar on so that is in the works.
I have a idea to use the 2x2 peices and sleeve in some 1.5x1.5 for the front and back as some kind of removable roof rack bar system.
It would be easier if I had all this all down on paper instead of winging it as I go...
Hey at least it's somewhat original.

Did some mods to the flatbed today but we ran out of wire. We will finish it up tomorrow I am keeping it a secret until I am done with it. :D

Notice anything different?

I used the old smittybuilt rollbar and cut the legs off and used peices of 1/4" 5x5 boxed to stand the roll bar on welded the roll bar to the peices then welded it to the flatbed.

I plan on adding some support legs from the roll bar to the frame but I am waiting until I have my rocksliders done to do it.

I know it's not some sick ass exo setup but it's basic protection if I do roll over.

Thanks.
I started yet another mod today. I decided to put some 86 Toyota MR2 seats into my truck to replace the aged seats I had in it.

Thanks it's getting there. I still have little things to do on it.
I recently found I had bad gas in it.
My engine was sputtering and stuff so I threw a bottle of dry gas in the tank and changed the fuel filter.
It turns out I had water in the fuel filter and some sediment. I was almost out of gas so I refilled the tank the truck seems to run better now with a new filter and gas from a different gas station.
I swear some of these people are watering down thier gas to make a profit. It's bad enough you are paying $2.20 or more for regular gas and someone has to cut it to save a buck.

Well finally took my truck out last night my buddy knew some trails out in Westford, VT he had a problem running when he had IFS and I guess his buddies Land Rover got stuck out there too and had to winch in spots.
I went through all of it without getting stuck or hung up my truck did awsome.
I don't have pics of the trails just some pics of my truck this morning.

A little muddy

Hmm lets take a closer look ouch.

The other side ouch

Anyways I got home at 2 am I didn't really know how bad the dents were last night but the trail was really tight lots of trees... Also my truck wreaks of beer as well as it was christened it by spill of my buddies Samual Adams summer ale.

Did some stuff today to my truck:

Finally made a set of mounts for my Jackall jack today:

Also did some of the dreaded frame repairs today as well:

Yes they are ugly but they will hold. :king:  :moon:
I used 3/16" steel for the repairs.

I changed the way I had put my jack-all I think it mounts up better this way plus it won't snag trees as I go by them.

The next update will be finishing up my rear multimount receiver winch point.
I decided to use the old rear bumper with the class 3 receiver as parts.
Bootyfab  :moon:  pics to follow.

Here's the plate and class III receiver I am going to cut off the old bumper.

Wow big gap in this post since the last time but oh well.
Got around to doing more stuff on my truck this last weekend.
I actaully put on my ford f250 shock mounts and installed my rancho 5000 RS5012 shocks.
I also installed my Sky U-bolt flip kit as well

Here's some pics of the front shocks on.

Sky's U-bolt flip kit

The shock towers I notched in the bottom center and welded them on. I wanted to leave the bumpstops in place.
Yes there are many bogger welds on the towers.
A buddy of mine was practicing welding on alot of it.
The angle grinder broke or I would have gorund it down to look nice.
Also don't mind the nut barely on tierod I was in the process of replacing the crossrod which is tweaked pretty badly.

Now all I need is a flat or less curved pitman arm and some bump stops.

The Sky-Jacker springs flex ok I still want to pull the small leaf out of the pack and see how it does without it.

Looks good, I used the Ford shock mounts, awesome.  What were they, like 10 bucks a piece? best thing for the $$$.
Looking for 35s in SLO later summer time, like august.  Swapping Tires??

shad

I think all together they were like $22.
Ya not too bad for the cash.
Did you have to gusset the back of them at all?
